Discover the Magic of Ladyfingers Letterpress

From the moment I walked into Ladyfingers Letterpress, I knew I had stumbled upon something truly special. As an out-of-towner who had heard about their incredible work, I couldn't wait to see their studio in Colorado Springs, CO. Stepping inside, I was greeted by the warmth of the space, filled with an enchanting array of greeting cards, stationery, and locally-made gifts.

A Story of Creativity and Impact

The story behind Ladyfingers Letterpress is as captivating as the art they create. Founded by the talented couple Arley Torsone and Morgan Calderini, this Queer and Trans-owned-and-operated business began in 2011 when their own wedding invitation went viral. Their unique and artistic approach quickly garnered attention, leading them to produce one-of-a-kind wedding invitations for creative and discerning clients. The demand for their work expanded beyond weddings, prompting the launch of a line of greeting cards at the 2013 National Stationery Show. To their amazement, the line took off, and their products are now sold in over 1,000 stores worldwide.

A Hub of Creativity and Advocacy

In 2016, after a wildfire affected Morgan's family home in Colorado, the decision was made to relocate their studio to the West. It was then that Ladyfingers Letterpress opened its flagship store in the heart of Colorado Springs. This vibrant location not only serves as their letterpress and design headquarters but also as a hub for workshops, classes, and a curated selection of boutique stationery and locally-made gifts. The combination of their creative space and involvement in the arts and community truly sets Ladyfingers Letterpress apart.

Using Art for Social Change

What struck me most about Ladyfingers Letterpress is their commitment to using their platform for social advocacy. They have championed causes such as women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, BIPOC rights, and immigrant rights, using the power of their press to create impactful work that mobilizes social movements. It is inspiring to witness a business that actively engages with important societal issues.

Craftsmanship and Sustainability

In addition to their admirable values, Ladyfingers Letterpress takes pride in their craftsmanship and sustainability efforts. They firmly believe that making a big impact doesn't require being a large company. Their dedication to creating things by hand, locally, and sustainably is evident in every aspect of their work. Whether it's researching environmentally-friendly collaborations or meticulously crafting each piece, they go the extra mile to ensure their products are of the highest quality.

Award-Winning Recognition

Ladyfingers Letterpress has garnered recognition from prestigious publications such as The New York Times, Forbes, Grow With Google, Martha Stewart Weddings, Vogue, and more. Their exceptional talent and commitment to their craft have not gone unnoticed, and they are the proud recipients of the 2015 Card of the Year as awarded by the Greeting Card Association.

An Extraordinary Experience

To sum it up, my experience with Ladyfingers Letterpress was nothing short of extraordinary. From their captivating studio space to their unwavering dedication to social causes and sustainable practices, Arley Torsone and Morgan Calderini have created a haven for artistic expression and meaningful connections. I am grateful for the opportunity to have visited their shop and witnessed firsthand the magic that happens within their letterpress presses. Ladyfingers Letterpress is not just a stationery and gift brand; it's a testament to the power of creativity, community, and making a positive impact on the world.
